The Academy for the Arts, Science & Technology's Robotics Team
This year, AAST's Robotics Team is participating in the 2020 edition of the FIRST Robotics Competition. In this iteration of the competition, the scenario is that the robots must be built to perform actions to help save FIRSTCity from asteroids. There is no real asteroid threat but the robots must work together to perform tasks to help save this fictional city. One task the robots must be able to perform is to collect little yellow balls, called "power cells" and toss them into different sized holes at differing heights for different amounts of points. Next, for a different amount of points, the robot must be able to interact with a colorful wheel by either spinning it a certain number of times or move it to a specific color. The endgame challenge the robots must do is have either two or three robots hang off of a bar which takes some precision and mathematics to be able to work out the physics.
